Working in the café is so much fun. Tinny and I really do have a fan club; it’s awesome. Here’s an example: Tonight Kevin, one of the guys from the back who is now in the front, said to me, “Hey, you’ve got a lot of admirers, did you know?”
I didn’t quite know how to respond to this, so I just fixed him with an expression of skeptical confusion.
He said, “No, it’s true! No joke!”
I continued to just look at him, and he said, “Your name’s Ginny, right?”
“Yeah, my two friends, J.T. and Jordan (they live off campus)…they’re like fighting over you. I’ll point them out to you next time they’re in here.”
So yeah, that was pretty funny.
I began school today. Fun. I’m nervous, for some reason. Like, really nervous. I suppose I’ll get over it soon. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don’t have my books yet. Usually I’m so much more prepared than this, so maybe when I get all settled, the stress will just…wear off.
I’m taking four classes—Earth Science w/ Lab, Journalism, American History, and Women’s Studies.
Earth Science is the only class I’ve had so far. I’m not sure about the teacher yet; he seemed pretty serious—not many jokes today at all—but I’m hoping he’ll end up having one of those dry senses of humor. At any rate, he bears a very slight resemblance to a young Bill Murray, but with a ‘fro, so that’s cool. He doesn’t give any homework except for the labs, and that isn’t often, and the book isn’t even required…so I’ll have to really study for the tests. We’ll see how it goes.
I’m not tired now, of course. Not now that it is time for me to go to bed—no. Now I just feel like sitting here.
